My portrait process involves taking a lot of photographs of my subject. I study the photos on the computer and choose the one that speaks to me and has the best composition. I am always looking for a momentary glance or look that expresses a genuine personality trait or character. The reason for so many photos is the eyes are very important to me as they are "windows to the soul"or a persons essence. Initially, a model poses and shows me what they want the world to see, but I keep waiting for a lapse in the model's persona to catch a glimpse into the models true self.
